New mobile application makes it easier for tourists to explore Plitvice Lakes and Lika

The areas of Lika and Plitvice Lakes have received one of the most modern mobile tourist applications that enables tourists to plan, navigate, and familiarize themselves with the offerings and locations in the area more safely and easily in five languages, the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Rakovica reported on Thursday. The application named Plitvice Lakes, which is among the first for this area, was jointly designed by the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Rakovica, the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Plitvice Lakes, and the Plitvice Lakes National Park, while the technical part and development were entrusted to the company Plava tvornica from Virovitica.

The application is adapted for iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android (mobile and tablet) platforms.

– Plitvice Lakes is one of the most visited continental destinations with over a million tourists from around the world annually, and with this mobile application, we decided to provide tourists with everything they need for easier arrival and stay, while also following the increasingly important growing trend of presence on digital platforms, emphasized the director of the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Rakovica, Mira Špoljarić.

With an accessible user interface, the application is intended for all visitors with content in Croatian, English, French, Italian, and German, as well as an overview of all locations, routes, and other attractions of the National Park and its surroundings, along with all the service information that tourists need upon arrival, departure, and stay. All of this is accompanied by special labels with QR codes that stand out on the facilities in the area.

Špoljarić notes that the application is updated daily, providing new information about the rich offerings of attractions, accommodation facilities, and ideas for active leisure, including attractive photographs, contact details for clinics, pharmacies, police, banks, post offices, exchange offices, travel agencies, gas stations, and other institutions.
