A new law on adult education is being drafted in Croatia, which will introduce two new professions – teacher for adult education and andragogue, the head of an institution dealing with adult education, was announced on Friday in Split at the final conference of the project “Development of Occupational Standards and Qualification Standards for Adult Education Professionals”. These new professions will be registered in the Croatian Qualifications Framework Register and in the Croatian Qualification of Occupations.
– With this project, we aim to bring order to adult education as there are 506 organizations for adult education in Croatia with 127,751 participants working with 10,620 teachers, and our intention is to institutionalize and standardize the professionals engaged in adult education, said project leader Marita Brčić-Kuljiš.
She reminded that a new law on adult education is also being drafted, which will regulate the introduction of two new professions – teachers for adult education and andragogues.
– We planned that already in the next semester, in spring 2017, studying for the profession of teacher for adult education will be enabled, which would last two semesters, and in which professionals who are already working or wish to work in adult education will acquire the necessary competencies for that job, said Brčić-Kuljiš.
