Every Refrigerator Must Have These Ingredients

It is an old wisdom that the day is known by the morning, and breakfast. Whether you will drag yourself through the day with insufficient strength and slowly fall into a working tone or feel alert and energetic, ready for the most unexpected challenges, depends on breakfast. Nutritionally healthy eating comes in many forms and shapes, so the claim that a healthy breakfast is bland or tasteless does not hold. You have numerous options to nourish your body with essential vitamins, minerals, and proteins.

Infallible Cereals

To start with, you cannot go wrong with dried cereals and flakes; they are an energy bomb to kick off the day. However, if you have a little willpower, it is advisable to make your own mix, as industrial ones actually contain extremely high amounts of sugar. Milk or yogurt is an ideal addition to cereals and provides additional desirable bacteria, especially for the digestive system, not to mention the calcium you intake with it.

Eggs, whether fried or boiled, are one of the most energy-dense meals you can quickly prepare, and their main advantage is that they provide a long-lasting feeling of fullness. If, however, you fry the eggs with bacon, you will be ready for the toughest mental and physical efforts. Of course, it would be ideal to add a fresh salad, such as from tomatoes, peppers, or cucumbers.

Bread and Spread

Although there was some doubt about bread with spread, a classic breakfast in our regions, there is no reason not to enjoy it. Just be careful to replace white bread with a healthier variant, such as whole grain, rye, or organic bread. Likewise, there are butters and margarines on the market with reduced undesirable fats, enriched with vitamins or omega-3 fats. And if you are in a hurry and do not have time to eat your breakfast at home, pack some fruit in your bag; a banana would be ideal, along with a handful of mixed nuts (walnut, almond, hazelnut, pistachio…) and dried fruits (raisins, apricots, plums…).

What to Have in the Refrigerator

If your busy schedule does not leave you enough time to prepare a quality, freshly cooked lunch, so that it awaits you right after a tiring day, here are a few tips for stocking up on ingredients that you should always have in your refrigerator, so you can quickly nourish your body with quality nutrients.

Here’s what you must put on your shopping list:

  • Canned tuna or other favorite blue fish (empty the can onto cooked pasta or rice, add fresh or roasted tomatoes, a few olives, and you have an extremely quick, energy-rich, nutritious, and healthy meal)
  • Whole grain crackers are rich in protein, and with the addition of cheese spread, cheese slices, slices of ham or dried turkey, and certainly any type of salad, they become a complete, quick meal.
  • Eggs, chicken, turkey, or pork steaks are ingredients that can be quickly prepared in a hot pan, and again, a salad is enough to make the meal rounded and complete.
  • When purchasing fruits and vegetables, pay attention to choosing those that can be quickly prepared. As for vegetables, these are Swiss chard, zucchini, kale, broccoli, cauliflower.
  • Stock up on frozen vegetables; there is much evidence that most vegetables retain their highest quality ingredients best this way. Peas, for example, freeze excellently, and they cook significantly faster than fresh.
