The new government is expected to have four vice-presidents, stated the president of HDZ, Andrej Plenković, on Tuesday morning, adding that the work on forming the new government is being conducted through working groups. Although Plenković did not mention names, possible vice-presidents mentioned in public include Božo Petrov, Ivana Maletić, Zdravko Marić, and Davor Ivo Stier.
He also announced that HDZ is moving forward with a comprehensive tax reform.
– In the first phase, corporate tax, income tax. The idea to reduce the VAT rate will come in the second year of the mandate, first to 24, and then to 23. I am confident that we will reach an agreement with Most on this topic.
He also commented on the contentious point between Most and HDZ regarding the dispute with banks over the ‘Swiss franc’, saying: – I believe that when it comes to conversion, people have already been addressed by law, now it is important to protect the Croatian state and the Croatian budget. I expect a clear stance from the Ministry of Finance that will lead this process.
