Under the golden sponsorship of Vindija, the 46th Varaždin Baroque Evenings will take place from September 23 to October 4, a national festival that has significantly influenced the shaping of cultural identity in its home environment. This event returns Varaždin to a historical period in which the skill of preparing food took on the contours of true art, which Vindija has recognized by supporting this unique project through golden sponsorship, promoting the protection of cultural heritage and the values of the Varaždin region.
Vindija, with its rich gastronomic offer, perfectly fits into the historical period in which food culture experienced a true flourishing under the influence of French kings Louis XIV and Louis XV. Part of that luxury has also been inherited by Croatia, especially the Varaždin region, which is still presented today as one of the most beautiful Baroque centers in Europe, in which Vindija proudly participates.
Thanks to the partnership with Spain, the festival audience will have the opportunity for the first time this year to enjoy the musical heritage of the Spanish Baroque era and listen to the best ensembles that promote the spirit of excellence in the authentic performance of Baroque and Renaissance music. In addition to the audience from the most famous Croatian Baroque city – Varaždin, the opportunity to return to the past will also be available to audiences in Ludbreg, Krapina, Belac, Lopatinec, Varaždinske Toplice, Novi Marof, Prelog, and Vinica. The spirit of the time will also be conveyed through classical Baroque opera in a contemporary performance, Spanish flamenco, as well as the indispensable Baroque cuisine that will bring visitors back to a historical period rich in wealth and luxury.
