Family Business Club: Socially Responsible Leaders and Intergenerational Transition

Socially Responsible Leaders are the captains of a long voyage who think generations ahead. An increasing number of challenges significantly complicate decision-making and achieving desired results. The greatest management challenge today is how to reconcile the strong pressure to achieve the best possible short-term results with the need for long-term thinking and action. How, in other words, can these seemingly irreconcilable demands be aligned?

These were the topics of a workshop dedicated to the importance of socially responsible leadership for a successful intergenerational transition in family businesses, held for members of the Lider Family Business Club by Miljenko Cimeša, president of the Society for Organizational Learning – SoL Croatia and SoL consultant, and Andreja Pavlović, partner and senior advisor at the consulting firm Hauska & Partner.

Workshop participants gained insight into the Development Program for Socially Responsible Leaders. During the workshop, they discussed the key challenges their companies face and exchanged their experiences.

The next workshop for members of the Lider Family Business Club, which will be held at the end of October, will address the topic of structuring ownership relations, which is one of the biggest challenges in transferring a family business to the next generation. The workshop will be conducted by attorney Danijel Pribanić, who will introduce participants to various options for transferring business to heirs, where inheritance law rules do not always have to be in the foreground.
