Impol, owner of TLM, increased profit by more than 60 percent

The Slovenian aluminum group Impol, which has operated the Šibenik rolling mill TLM since last year, recorded a net profit of 19.3 million euros in the first half of this year, which is 7.4 million or 62 percent higher than in the same period last year. As shown by the financial report of the group published on Tuesday, consolidated net sales revenues were 276.3 million euros, which is 7 percent lower than in the first half of 2015, primarily influenced by the decline in aluminum prices in global markets. Of the total revenue, 94 percent was generated from exports. During this period, the company’s net debt was reduced by more than 23 percent, to 117.1 million euros.

The group estimates that business in the second half of the year will follow the trends from the first half and expects significant profit growth for the year.

Among the important business events, Impol highlights that since April of this year, they have launched the first rolled aluminum products from Impol-TLM on the market for the first time, and production has been increasing during this period. However, the positive trend was interrupted by a fire that broke out on May 28 on one of the key machines – the hot rolling mill. Impol states that they conducted machine repairs with external experts, which were successfully completed in August. At the beginning of September, the hot rolling mill was restarted, and they state that an optimal production process will be established in their company in Croatia in the last quarter of this year.

They also emphasize that through Impol TLM, they purchased the company Adria Ulaganja at the beginning of March and renamed it Impol Investments. At the end of June, Impol had 2,148 employees at the group level, of which 288 were in Croatia.
