At the negotiations for the formation of a new Government, a four-member delegation from Most arrived at the HDZ Headquarters on Tuesday around 5 PM, led by the party leader Božo Petrov, who did not wish to make any statements to the journalists.
Most announced its seven conditions for support in forming the Government ahead of the parliamentary elections, which relate to the democratization of the electoral system, the declaration of an exclusive economic zone, amendments to the enforcement law, the Law on HRT, the Law on the Croatian National Bank, local and regional self-government, and the abolition of taxes on companies that would apply to small and medium-sized enterprises.
The President of HDZ, Andrej Plenković, stated earlier today to journalists in front of the party headquarters that HDZ understands the points raised by Most in their demands, but that some of them require more detailed explanations. Therefore, he emphasized, they want to see with their colleagues from Most how some of these elements can be included in the future Government program, how compatible they are with HDZ’s electoral program, and what legal consequences individual proposals entail. “We are starting boldly. We want to quickly stabilize the institutions and reach a situation where we can receive the opportunity from the President of the Republic, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, to form a new Government,” Plenković said today.
The first working meeting regarding the formation of the Government at the HDZ headquarters, as unofficially learned, could last about an hour and a half.
Alongside the President of HDZ, Plenković, the negotiations are also led by Zdravko Marić, Ivana Maletić, Gordan Jandroković, Davor Ivo Stier, and Davor Božinović. Along with Petrov, the delegation from Most includes Miroslav Šimić, Ivan Kovačić, and Ante Čikotić.
