A few days ago, the consulting firm Deloitte ranked the Hungarian company among the best in Central and Southeastern Europe, and now MOL Group has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSWI). The assessment was conducted by the investment group RobecoSam, and MOL Group was included in the DJSWI in competition with sixty-eight of the largest companies in that sector.
This places the company in the top 15 percent of the most integrated oil and gas companies based on corporate sustainability. Furthermore, it is the only company from Central and Southeastern Europe included in this index. The company was also on this index in 2010 and 2011, and therefore, inclusion in the index is not permanent but depends on results compared to those of companies in a compatible industry, based on a range of sustainability measurements including environmental and social factors.
Jozef Molnar from MOL Group stated that the group’s goal is the highest possible safety for employees, as well as for people outside the company in the communities where they operate. This particularly relates, Molnar emphasized, to the environment. Inclusion in the DJSWI will further strengthen the commitment to continuous improvement in this segment, said Molnar.
