Are Entrepreneurs Encouraged Enough for New Business Ventures? We Reveal on the Day of Big Plans, September 30

Smart decisions can prove to be extremely profitable at times when everyone is trying to lay low and wait for the crisis to pass. Companies that have a creative and motivated team, prepared projects, and good relationships with customers and banks will fare best during the time of recovery. We wrote this in Lider in anticipation of a multi-year recession and the first Day of Big Plans conference in 2009. This year, after nearly seven lean years, the Day of Big Plans will take place on September 30 at the Westin in Zagreb, buoyed by stable economic growth.

Who has been brave enough to gather knowledge and capital, develop ideas, and wait for the right circumstances to take action? The GDP growth of 2.8 percent in the second quarter of this year confirmed optimistic forecasts for 2017. Will entrepreneurs, despite this, ‘play it safe’ or are they encouraged enough for new business ventures? Can they count on a stable political situation in the country after two elections in less than a year?

At the conference, which will be opened by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, with a theme of attracting investments and encouraging exports, we will also learn the answers to these questions, and global and regional trends will be presented by the chief economist of the EBRD, Sergei Guriev.

Their views on the future, opportunities, and threats for entrepreneurs will be presented at the round table by Anita Letica (Philip Morris), Denis Matijević (Agrofructus), Gianni Rossanda (Uljanik), Pavo Zubak (Zubak Group), Mario Žižek (Addiko Bank), and Ivan Žižić (RBA).

For a precise assessment of the parameters that entrepreneurs must include in planning the new business year, it is best to listen to those who strongly influence them. Don’t miss hearing what Nikica Gabrić (Poliklinika Svjetlost), Boris Nemšić (I-New Unified Mobile Solutions), Marija Anargyrou Nikolić (Coca-Cola HBC), and Alan Sumina (Nanobit) say about the challenges of long-term strategic planning.
