At the traditional Summer Celebration of the German-Croatian Chamber of Industry and Commerce held on Thursday, September 8, in Zagreb, representatives of Kaufland, Ms. Gordana Frgačić, Head of the Human Resources Business Area, was officially awarded the certificate “Exemplary Company for Professional Practice”.
The German-Croatian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) is part of the network of German foreign trade chambers, which supports companies in conquering new markets at 130 locations in 90 countries. Established more than 13 years ago, among its more than 350 members are a large number of reputable German companies operating in Croatia, including Kaufland Hrvatska k.d.
One of the newer services that the Chamber offers its members is the certification program for professional practice. By awarding the certificate “Exemplary Company for Professional Practice”, companies receive official confirmation of the quality of their programs in conducting professional practice for both students and high school pupils.
During the certificate awarding ceremony to the representatives of Kaufland, the Chamber’s Director Gunther Neubert emphasized that he hopes other member companies will follow Kaufland’s example and that through this program, the standards for conducting professional practice will also rise.
Kaufland invests significant efforts in the development and education of its employees and in developing talent from within. With the intention of getting even closer to the community in which it operates and ensuring good and quality employees for the future in a timely manner, Kaufland accepts students and pupils for professional practice, allowing them to gain their first work experiences. Each student and pupil on an internship at Kaufland has their own mentor, a defined plan and program for the internship, and the opportunity to earn pocket money since every internship at Kaufland is paid.
