Geoinformation company Gisdata reported on Thursday that it has entered the Saudi Arabian market through a licensing agreement for the industrial software system GDi Vizion. This software has been successfully launched multiple times in the European market and beyond, and in Saudi Arabia, it has been selected as the platform for managing and overseeing the lifecycle of the Saudi National Fiber Network, a national backbone telecommunications network with 17,000 kilometers of optical cables.
The value of the contract in the first phase, including services from a local partner, is around 3 million Saudi riyals (over 500,000 euros), with significant growth potential in subsequent phases, according to Gisdata’s statement. According to the CEO Boran Lončarić, based on the contract, the company expects new acquisitions in this demanding market.
GDi ranks among the largest software companies in Croatia, with a consolidated revenue in 2015 of over 105 million kuna. In addition to Croatia, it has offices in 11 countries, and more than two-thirds of its revenue comes from foreign markets.
