Most presented seven key guidelines for which it advocates before forming the Government

Most nezavisnih lista is on Saturday in Split presented seven key guidelines for which it advocates before forming the future Government.

– We do not want to waste time but truly change Croatia. I consider this a fight for every citizen of the Republic of Croatia, said the leader of Most, Božo Petrov.

In Most, they explained how cooperation with one of the parties (SDP or HDZ) will begin so that immediately after the constitution of the Croatian Parliament, they will start the deadline set for forming the government, as well as the deadline for fulfilling the proposed short-term changes. While the mandate’s legal deadline for forming the Government lasts, the deadline for implementing the agreed measures will also last. If the agreed measures are not implemented, Most will not enter the Government with that potential partner. Most will consider that the principal agreement has been violated and will be free to seek other models and partners or simply accept the position of opposition.

These are the seven guidelines of Most:

1. Democratization of the Croatian and financing of the Croatian political and electoral system There will be a possibility for three candidates from the electoral lists to go through preferential voting in the Parliament, not just one. It will also be required to choose a principle according to which persons who have committed serious criminal offenses against official duty and abuse of position and authority cannot be nominated on electoral lists.

2. Declaration of an exclusive economic zone Most proposes the establishment of an exclusive economic zone throughout the territory of the Republic of Croatia. The Croatian Parliament abolishes ZERP and declares the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Croatia in the Adriatic Sea extending from its territorial sea. The act of declaring the exclusive economic zone will be notified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia to the Secretary-General of the UN as the depositary of the 1982 Convention on the Law of the Sea and to all coastal states in the Adriatic Sea.

3. Amendment of the Enforcement Law Most wants to enable debtors who have only one property not to end up on the street. Most also wants to prevent manipulations where citizens’ accounts are enforced based on false documents. Finally, Most wants to introduce penalties for dishonest or negligent enforcement agents.

4. Amendment of the HRT Law Most proposes an amendment to the Law on Croatian Radio and Television in such a way that the prescribed maximum amount of the monthly fee is reduced to 65 HRK. Most also demands amendments to the law on HRT so that enforcement for the RTV fee is conducted by HRT. HRT will make decisions on enforcements independently without public notaries and lawyers to reduce the costs for debtors. (the public service would be given public powers).

5. Change of the HNB Law Supervision of the state audit of the operations of the HNB is a standard in many EU countries, and aligning Croatian legislation with that standard is a matter of democratic reach.

6. Law on salaries in local and regional self-government Most proposes amendments to the Law on salaries in local and regional self-government according to which the total amount for salaries of employees in local and regional self-government units must not exceed 15% of the operating income of the unit achieved in the previous year, and in such a way that this provision must be respected when adopting the new budget.

7. Abolition of the corporate tax Most proposes amendments to the Law on financing local and regional self-government units according to which the corporate tax for small and medium-sized enterprises would be abolished as a welcome sign for every entrepreneurial initiative and the establishment of new companies as well as a gesture to preserve all small and medium-sized enterprises already operating in the Republic of Croatia.

It will be interesting to hear the opinions of the leaders of SDP and HDZ, Zoran Milanović and Andrej Plenković. Of course, you can also write your opinion in the comments.
