Krapina’s Kotka now has a new brand in its portfolio, ‘Tailoring to Measure’. The brand’s presentation was preceded by thorough and extensive preparations in which Josef Moser, an esteemed German tailor and model maker for bespoke tailoring from the Munich department store Lodenfrey, played a key role.
Moser, who today demonstrated how to professionally take measurements for the creation of a men’s blazer at the presentation of Kotka’s brand ‘Tailoring to Measure’, was engaged to educate master tailors at Kotka for this task. Incidentally, the role of the model was played by eighteen-year-old nanbudo master Petar Jakopec from Marija Bistrica, who returned from the recent World Nanbudo Championship with three gold medals. If his name sounds familiar to some older readers, it is because Petar is the grandson of the late long-time director of Zabok’s Regeneracija, who bore the same name.
Ivica Cerovečki, the owner of Kotka, brought Petar Jakopec to the presentation of the new brand to highlight that even in the Croatian Zagorje, there are individuals capable of creating the highest world-class in their field. His other guest was from the ‘golden’ class – winemaker Boris Drenški, owner of the Bodren winery, and a winner of numerous world wine awards, including two gold Decanters.
By entering the bespoke tailoring segment, Kotka primarily aims to significantly increase its presence in the Croatian men’s suit market. Currently, Kotka produces about 170,000 high-quality men’s suits annually, almost all of which are exported to the European market, mainly to Germany. Only about two thousand suits are sold on the domestic market. To increase sales in Croatia, Kotka has renovated its store across from the factory in Krapina, which has also reopened today.
