New Issue of Lider: KPI – Three Letters That Determine the Fate of Every Manager

KPIs are the managerial GPS: key performance indicators require you to set the right goals, to know where you are and where you need to go. They are increasingly used by companies, mostly large and foreign-owned for now. However, it is a valuable tool for small entrepreneurs as well. How to utilize this tool to improve business results is revealed by Tin Bašić and Ksenija Puškarić in the new issue of Lider.

Two governments, two prepared (more or less) Waste Management Plans (PGO) – that of former SDP Minister of Environment Mihael Zmajlović for the period 2015 – 2021 and that of the current Most Minister Slaven Dobrović for the period 2016 – 2022 – but neither is formally active. Zmajlović’s plan, worth 22 billion kuna, based on waste management centers (CGO), is sitting in a drawer, while Dobrović’s plan of five billion, based on sorting facilities, was recently blocked by his partner HDZ. Most conditions cooperation with SDP or HDZ on the parliamentary acceptance of Dobrović’s plan. However, it is a half-baked product from which it is unclear what the actual costs will be. The debate has become exclusive, without a proper analysis to find the best model, writes Jasmina Trstenjak in the new issue of Lider.

From the first day of October, HAMAG BICRO is issuing a call to all interested micro and small entrepreneurs who are in dire need of a loan to support their business plans, mostly already defined in the processes of obtaining funds from EU sources. How and who can access such loans is discussed by Ivana Tarnaj in the new issue of Lider.

After the merchants for whom it produced flyers disappeared from the market, the Karlovac craft Promo 21 has shifted its focus to the construction sector for which it produces catalogs, visuals, websites, and specialized newspapers. Everything it has learned is now the platform on which the Design Center is being built, a step towards general and industrial design. Mladen Volarić spoke with Dalibor Dakić, the owner and founder of Promo 21, in the new issue of Lider.

For years, Europe has tolerated dubious tax practices in some of its member states, among which Luxembourg, Ireland, and the Netherlands are usually highlighted, but the empty treasury has prompted it to take action against tax evasion. The fine imposed on powerful Apple in billions of euros should serve as a daunting lesson. However, a fine of 13 billion euros is a trifle compared to the profits from years of tax dodging, writes Vanja Figenwald in the new issue of Lider.
