Volkswagen Up – Refreshed and Even More Attractive for a Younger Audience

It may sound somewhat unusual, but there is a connection between the Volkswagen Up and tourism. In Croatia, it is one of the most sought-after vehicles in rental cars, which automatically means a connection to tourism. The demand is not coincidental as the Up is primarily a true Volkswagen with all its advantages, and in addition, it is small and compact, making it the most affordable option available. All arguments speak in its favor. It has recently been refreshed, but the changes are not revolutionary, just cosmetic. Nevertheless, these changes make the Up even more attractive and, we would say, youthful in character.

A Small Disco Club New colors and wheel designs are offered, along with a slight tightening of the wrinkles. In the interior, the same story applies, with small changes that will further ease driving for the driver and passengers. There is an even more pronounced step towards connecting with smartphones, which are the best substitute for navigation as well as for ‘playlists’ in audio systems. The attention VW pays to the sound of the audio system is also shown by the fact that there is a separate model of the Up, Beats, which, believe it or not, comes with a ‘subwoofer’ in the trunk as standard equipment. The Beats series is a kind of mobile small disco club.

Only Petrol When it comes to small city cars or large coupe models, only petrol engines are offered. Thus, the Up has only one petrol three-cylinder engine of 999 cc, which comes in three different power versions. The already known aggregates develop maximum power of 60 and 75 horsepower, while the novelty with the redesign is the most powerful version of 90 horsepower. One can already speak of a small athlete as this car reaches 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds and develops a top speed of 185 km/h. However, it is believed that the most sought-after will be the basic version with 60 horsepower, which reaches a top speed of 162 km/h and accelerates to 100 km/h in 14.4 seconds. The VW Up comes either with a manual or with an automated five-speed transmission. The buyer can also choose between a more attractive version with three doors or the more practical one with five doors. Prices range from 72,954 kuna for the Take Up equipment package with the weakest 60-horsepower engine to 101,970 kuna for the High Up model with an automatic transmission and a 75-horsepower engine. As a rarity, we can mention the electric version e-Up, which without state incentives costs 201,491 kuna.
