The first wine hotel in Croatia – Vinotel “Gospoja” – in which the winemaking families Toljanić and Brusić invested around 36 million kuna, was ceremoniously opened on Thursday in Vrbnik on the island of Krk.
According to the Vinotel “Gospoja”, it is a family boutique, built during last year and this year. The project was financed by the Agricultural Cooperative “Gospoja” with its own funds, and the investment was largely supported by the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Zagrebačka Bank.
The first Croatian hotel themed around wine is located in Vrbnik, above the sea. This investment continues the family tradition of producing Vrbnička Žlahtina, as a unique tourist offering.
The Vinotel features a modern design, but is inspired by the old urban cores of Vrbnik, with five connected houses in a row, symbolizing the five Croatian wine regions.
The hotel has 58 beds in 22 accommodation units, of which there are two apartments and five family rooms, decorated with themes of Croatian grape varieties, after which they are named. The ground floor is in the blue of black varieties, the first floor is in the green of white varieties, and at the top of the hotel is Vrbnička Žlahtina, or accommodation units that bear the names of parts of the Vrbnik field. In addition to accommodation capacities, guests have at their disposal the restaurant and tavern “Gospoja” for 220 persons and a SPA area.
