The Force has undoubtedly propelled Walt Disney to the top, alongside Apple, which has been there for quite some time. On this year’s list of the ten most powerful global brands, according to the consulting firm Brand Finance, Disney has secured the first place, as has Apple, among the five hundred most valuable companies. With its rankings of global brands, Brand Finance has established itself as an important source for brand valuation. Among other things, it provides a list of the five hundred best banks, with American Wells Fargo once again at the top.
American Dominance
Disney can literally thank the Force for its rise. Riding on the success of the latest, seventh film in the ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ series, it has achieved the greatest power. A similar situation occurred last year with the Lego brand due to the ‘Lego Movie’. Apple’s dominance in the world continues this year with a brand value of $145.9 billion, but it does not rank among the ten most powerful. According to Brand Finance, Disney is positioned at 24th place on the list of the most valuable brands. This is a drop from the twentieth position, although it has increased its brand value by three percent, now amounting to $31.8 billion. The top bank, Wells Fargo, ranks tenth among the most valuable with a revenue of $44.2 billion, which is a move up five places towards the top. Among the top 10 of Brand Finance, there are as many as eight technology and telecommunications companies.
