The agenda of the Government meeting on Wednesday will include a proposal for a decision on establishing the annual quota of permits for the employment of foreigners.
This would amount to 3,115 permits for this calendar year. Of the total number of permits, 800 relate to the extension of already issued permits, while 2,300 permits would be issued for the new employment of foreigners.
The largest number, 1,500 new permits, would be issued for the employment of foreigners in shipbuilding, 500 in construction, 123 in transportation, 85 in tourism and hospitality, 34 in culture, 20 in agriculture and forestry, 18 in the manufacturing industry, 15 in healthcare, and five in science and education.
Additionally, the proposed decision also establishes the annual quota of permits for seasonal employment, specifically 15 foreigners in agriculture and forestry.
