Discovering the Latest Global Trends in Marketing

Although no one can say for certain what the future holds, there are indicators that allow us to attempt to predict upcoming trends in marketing.

On Friday, April 8, 2016, at one of the educational forums of the Cotrugli Business School, Prof. Nicolas Kfuri highlighted some of the current and future trends that need to be taken into account.

One of the most important phenomena we are witnessing is that consumers seek style in everything they purchase, even when it comes to coffee or water, and they are willing to spend more money on what the environment considers modern or attractive. Additionally, there is an extremely important change in the understanding of the consumer’s role. While in the past they were almost considered puppets, there is a growing awareness that they are living beings who can contribute with their influence, collaborate with producers, and thus contribute to the product. Although this concept originated in the 1980s, the change is happening now.

One of the trends that sparked the most interest among forum participants was the so-called O! strategy, which aims to equalize men and women in terms of habits, appearance, and consequently consumption. Kfuri emphasized that neutromarketing makes perfect sense from a business standpoint, as creating one product for all doubles the marketing potential.

It should also be noted that consumers demand transparency more than ever before and are more likely to react if they believe you are trying to hide the truth about your products or how they are made. It is important to know that by creating an emotional connection with the consumer, you significantly increase the likelihood of selling a product or service. The forum was available to follow via livestream on the Facebook page of the Cotrugli Business School.

– Professor Kfuri shared with participants an overview supported by results and practices of reputable global companies and connected it with current and upcoming transformative trends that will change our approach and relationship with customers. I enjoyed the presentation and will definitely implement the presented trends into my customer relationship strategy, said attorney Marijana Šarolić Robić.

– The forum was an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the best practices of global marketing trends. The presentation was very interesting, well-prepared, and excellently presented by Professor Kfuri, who educated us with a dose of humor. After the forum, I watched the video material suggested by Professor Kfuri during the presentation with some of the participants, said Morana Lončar, professional associate-specialist, HROTE.
