The chair on which author J.K. Rowling sat while creating the Harry Potter novels has been sold at auction in New York for an incredible amount.
An unknown buyer paid $394,000 at the auction held on Wednesday in New York for the chair. According to the Guardian, it is one of four chairs from a set made of oak wood from 1930, on which Rowling sat while writing the first two books about the young wizard – The Philosopher’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets.
At that time, Rowling was living and working in Edinburgh.
