Agrokor’s Abrakadabra Offers Customers 100,000 Items and 1,000 Brands Online

The virtual doors of Abrakadabra will open on Monday at midnight at the domain www.abrakadabra.com, where Croatian online shoppers will be offered as many as 100,000 items, nearly 1,000 brands coming from over 200 partners.

The Agrokor Group today presented its company A007 to journalists, behind which stands the first Croatian online mall Abrakadabra. The virtual doors of Abrakadabra will open on Monday at midnight at the domain www.abrakadabra.com, where Croatian online shoppers will be offered as many as 100,000 items, nearly 1,000 brands coming from over 200 partners.  Agrokor is strongly entering e-commerce through this initiative, and Hrvoje Kraljević, the director of A007 and director of Tiska, claims they will try to build a leading position in this market not only in Croatia but also in the region.

– After Croatia, the goal is to expand to the Slovenian market, followed by the Serbian market and other markets in Southeast Europe, said Kraljević, adding that 40 million kuna has been invested in building the platform so far. Currently, there are 25 experts employed at A007, and the plan is to quadruple that number by the end of the year. The plans are ambitious; in the first 12 months, Kraljević stated, up to 20 million euros in revenue is expected.

Abrakadabra will not be a direct competitor to Konzum Klik, as it will not contain food items, but it offers  11 categories: Auto-Moto, White Goods, Garden and Tools, Computers and Peripherals, Toys, Books, Beauty and Personal Care, Fashion, Baby Equipment, Consumer Electronics, and Sports and Dietary Supplements.

The delivery of most items is free and possible at 1,300 Tiska kiosks and at more than 50 Tiska Paketomats across Croatia, while delivery to home addresses costs 19 kuna, unless the price of the item exceeds 900 kuna, which is also the limit for free delivery. Payment models are various, Kraljević said. They support all cards from Croatian banks, installment purchases are possible, and cash on delivery is available at home addresses.

– We are in negotiations with PayPal, and we will have other payment models that we are still negotiating, Kraljević emphasized.

E-commerce in Croatia is growing at a rate of 20 to 25 percent annually, and online sales in Croatia have an annual turnover of 3.5 billion kuna, which is only four percent of total retail turnover.

– We see this as an opportunity to position ourselves in leading positions, not only in Croatia but also in the region, said Anita Lacmanović, Operations Director.

She notes that one of the special features of Abrakadabra is Avenue de CRO, where clothing from Croatian designers such as Aleksandra Dojčinović, Neba, Krie, Elfsa, Zigman, Boris Pavlin, A’Marie, Hippy Garden, Lokomotiva, and others can be purchased. Also, for the first time, brands such as Red Bull Fashion, Colmar, Bellabeat Leaf, which Abrakadabra is the only sales point for in Croatia, Mad Pax designed by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, as well as Greyp, Kisha, F&F, and Intersport, which are available for online purchase for the first time, and many others are in preparation.
