“You still have trust, when you no longer have it – you leave!”

There is no doubt that the love between First Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Karamarko and Prime Minister Tihomir Orešković is no longer flourishing.

This claim is supported by today’s post from Tomislav Karamarko on his official Facebook page. In the post, the leader of HDZ reflects on Prime Minister Tihomir Orešković and his arbitrary decision regarding the candidate for the head of SOA. Karamarko clearly indicated that Daniel Markić is not his choice, that the saga surrounding the appointment of the director of SOA has lasted too long, but also that Tihomir Orešković still has his and the trust of HDZ as the largest parliamentary party.

– When it comes to my trust in the Prime Minister, Mr. Tihomir Orešković still has the support of HDZ as the strongest parliamentary party. When he no longer has it, he will no longer be Prime Minister.

In continuation, Karamarko hopes that Orešković will focus on the economy and finance, “key topics for which he received the trust of HDZ.”

Of course, it should be noted that a significant debate developed in the comments of the post.

My stance on appointments in the security-intelligence system is well known. My desire was to reach an agreement at the level of the entire Government regarding the proposal for the appointment of the director of SOA, which did not happen, as the Prime Minister decided to officially propose his candidate alone. The proposed candidate is not my choice, but I did not question, nor will I question, the formal right of the Prime Minister to propose his candidate.

Appointments in the security-intelligence system are yet another issue on which a decision has been made too late, and now that it has finally been resolved, I expect the Prime Minister to focus on the key topics for which he received the trust of HDZ, primarily the economy and investments.

When it comes to my trust in the Prime Minister, Mr. Tihomir Orešković still has the support of HDZ as the strongest parliamentary party. When he no longer has it, he will no longer be Prime Minister.
