Ministerial Dream of Religious (Fu)turism

Easter is the time when the tourist season actually begins. And tourism and faith have been ‘skillfully’ combined by the Minister of Tourism, Antun Kliman.

According to him, religious tourism will break the myth that we only have sun and sea:

– We have great and valuable potentials, rarities within European frameworks, says the minister, emphasizing his Vodnjan.

So I immediately imagine a new campaign: Explore the tallest bell tower in Istria in a very favorable seven-day ‘all-inclusive’ package. The price – a mere trifle, and it includes a free tour of Brijuni and the Pula Arena.

Unfortunately, Croatia has neither Lourdes nor Fatima, and even Medjugorje remains on the other side of the border… Croatian religious tourism will still remain a domestic product for domestic customers who will continue to pilgrimage to Marija Bistrica, Sinj, Aljmaš… and the other twenty Marian shrines.
