Josip Lozančić appointed new director of regulatory affairs at TDR

Lozančić will lead the team at TDR responsible for the regulatory adaptation of the ambitious development plans of British American Tobacco (BAT), of which TDR has been a part since October last year.

Josip Lozančić, one of Croatia’s leading tax experts, takes on the role of director of regulatory affairs at TDR. Lozančić will lead the team at TDR responsible for the regulatory adaptation of the ambitious development plans of British American Tobacco, of which TDR has been a part since October last year.

– When we took over TDR, we announced strong growth based on TDR’s local knowledge and BAT’s international experience. Mr. Lozančić’s experience and expertise are a significant asset to our team, emphasized Ram Addanki, General Director of the BAT Adria cluster.

In the past five years, Lozančić has served as State Secretary, Director, and Deputy Director of the Tax Administration at the Ministry of Finance, having come from the Adris Group, where he worked until 2011. Lozančić arrives at his new position at TDR from the role of head of the deposit insurance fund at the State Agency for Deposit Insurance and Bank Rehabilitation.

– With the entry into the system of a large international corporation like BAT, new development perspectives have opened up for TDR, but also some new challenges. I see this as a great professional opportunity, but it is equally important for me to contribute to the further development of the domestic industry. I believe that new opportunities are opening up for me within BAT and that together we will achieve the ambitious goals we have set, said Josip Lozančić, the new director of regulatory affairs at TDR.

After completing his studies in economics, Josip Lozančić began his business career at PIK Vinkovci, and from 1992 to 2001, he was employed at the Tax Administration, where he participated in the implementation of a comprehensive tax reform as the head of the Vukovar regional office and assistant director of the tax administration. From 1994 to 1997, he was also a member of the first county government of Vukovar-Srijem County responsible for finance.
