If you don’t know where to go on vacation, Place2go can help you

The fifth international tourism fair Place2go was opened on Friday at the Boćarski dom Zrinjevac, gathering a record 160 exhibitors from 19 countries, who will present their offerings to Croatian and Zagreb travel enthusiasts until Sunday, March 20.

– We are happy that despite various obstacles we managed to ‘push’ this project to its fifth edition, where Morocco, Israel, and Japan are presented to the Croatian audience for the first time with their tourism offerings, along with many other ‘old’ exhibitors from Indonesia, India, Thailand, Belgium, Turkey, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as exhibitors from Croatia, said the founder and director of the fair, Damjana Domanovac, at the opening.

A novelty this year is the ‘particularly strong’ first day of the fair, or Place2go Business Friday, where travel agencies from Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Thailand, Indonesia, Serbia, and Slovenia, as well as numerous other business visitors, will be able to negotiate cooperation directly, emphasized Domanovac, highlighting that the other two days of the fair will also provide the audience with a true adventure with numerous attractive contents.

Assistant Minister of Tourism Snježana Brzica believes that it is good to have such a fair for the meeting of providers and the audience looking for travel. It is expected that tourism in Croatia, after last year’s record season, will achieve good results this year as well, given the good announcements from all markets, emphasized Brzica.

Among the exhibitors at the fair are numerous airlines, some of which will announce the establishment of new direct lines connecting Croatia with Canada, Israel, Russia, Portugal, and the Czech Republic, as well as many tourist boards (Osijek, Bjelovarsko-bilogorska County, Karlovac, and Zagreb) and Croatian national parks and nature parks.

The first day of the fair is open exclusively for business visitors until 4 PM to enable them to meet with exhibitors and negotiate future cooperation, and there are also planned lectures by tourism professionals on new trends in tourism.

There will also be a panel on the topic of gastronomic tourism in Croatia as part of the presentation of the Taste the Mediterranean festival, and visitors will be able to learn about the best options for, for example, exchanging vacation homes with someone on the other side of the world, what is needed to work or study in Australia, or how to choose the best destination for a wedding abroad, and similar topics.

The fair also has a humanitarian character as it continues cooperation with the association “Kolajna ljubavi,” which actively operates in Croatia and neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in Africa, and the organizers expect more than a thousand visitors.
