First Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Karamarko visited the company Impol-TLM in Šibenik on Thursday, which has leased its facilities to the Slovenian Impol.
On that occasion, Karamarko stated that the most important thing is to revive production in that company.
– I am glad that production will gradually increase, and we will help, as our interest is clear. I hope that in the next two to three months there will be 400-500 employees, said Karamarko.
In response to a journalist’s inquiry regarding the criminal complaint by the President of the Croatian Union Association (HURS) Ozren Matijašević for embezzlement of around 30 million euros in TLM from 2009 to 2014, Karamarko said that if there is suspicion, “let the man sue,” but that it relates to the period before the current government took office.
– We are interested in putting TLM into operation as soon as possible. Not everything can be perfect immediately, but I think this is the best way, said Karamarko.
When asked to comment on Matijašević’s claims that there were illegalities during the privatization of TLM in which the state was damaged for millions, Karamarko said he does not know the details.
– It is difficult for me to comment on that now, but surely someone will have to investigate it, he said.
