The largest European conference of business angels and investors – EBAN Winter University will take place on November 29 and 30, 2016, at the Vatroslav Lisinski Hall in Zagreb. The conference was announced to the media by Davorin Štetner, president of the Croatian Business Angels Network (Crane) as the organizer, and Milan Bandić, the mayor of the City of Zagreb, as the co-organizer of this project.
This conference is held annually, and around 1,700 participants are expected, including 400 investors and business angels and 100 startups from around the world, making it the largest business conference ever organized in Zagreb. The main task of this conference is to connect young entrepreneurs with business angels and investors.
– It is no coincidence that Zagreb has been chosen for this prestigious event. The work of the city administration has greatly contributed to our recognition as a destination for European business events. The City of Zagreb will also support the development of high-tech companies through a new technology park, which we are equipping in Pavilion 12 at the Zagreb Fair, which will open this year – announced Bandić, adding that Zagreb is also preparing new financial projects to support startups.
– This conference will ensure great attention from international business angels and investors to Croatia and enable Croatian startups to present their ideas on a global level. The initiative has been supported from day one by President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, and to earn the honor of organizing this conference, we had to defeat Norway, Sweden, and Ukraine. It should positively stimulate the entrepreneurial climate in Croatia and change people’s awareness – concluded Štetner.
