Fuel Prices Rise for the Third Consecutive Week

For the third consecutive week, fuel prices are rising in Croatia. The price of a liter of Eurosuper 95 has increased by 17 lipa since Tuesday and is now sold in the range of 8.41 to 8.45 kuna, depending on the company. In the last three weeks, the price of a liter of gasoline has increased by a total of 29 lipa, making an average 50-liter tank more expensive by 14.5 kuna.

Prices of Eurodiesel have also risen. According to information from the portal cijenegoriva.info, a liter of Eurodiesel is now 18 lipa more expensive and is sold in the range of 7.60 to 7.63 kuna. In the last three weeks, the price of this type of fuel has increased by a total of 30 lipa, which means that an average 50-liter tank is now 15 kuna more expensive.

Additionally, starting Tuesday, drivers using autogas will pay 13 lipa more per liter, with most stations selling it at a price of 3.82 kuna. Some distributors, such as Plinski centar Zagreb, continue to sell this type of fuel at a price that is even 30 lipa lower (3.52 kuna).

The change in fuel prices in Croatia is a result of the movements in oil derivative prices in the so-called Mediterranean market and the exchange rate of the dollar against the kuna. The average exchange rate increased by 1.05 percent last week. However, it should be noted that the price of a barrel of crude oil (Brent type, although it does not directly affect price formation in Croatia, but shows the trend) has surpassed the level of 40 dollars for the first time in the last three months. In the last month, the price of a barrel has jumped by a total of 21 percent, which means that if this trend continues, we can certainly expect a continuation of rising fuel prices in Croatia.
