Women leaders can drive change in Europe

As part of the celebration of thirty years of existence, IEDC – Bled School of Management is organizing, among other things, the conference ‘Women Leaders – Agents of Change in Europe’.

This year, IEDC – Bled School of Management in Slovenia is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary. This will be marked by many international initiatives, including the international conference ‘Women Leaders – Agents of Change in Europe’ which will take place on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, April 14 and 15, 2016, at IEDC Bled School of Management. The participation of one hundred high-ranking women leaders from business, politics, and NGOs is expected.

– With this conference, we aim to showcase the best practices of women in high leadership positions in Europe and raise awareness that women leaders are important agents of change in this part of the world – emphasizes Dr. Danica Purg, director and dean of IEDC.

The conference will be opened by Dr. Miro Cerar, Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, and the keynote speaker will be Prof. Susan R. Madsen from Utah Valley University in the USA, a globally recognized expert on women in high positions who will exclusively present the research findings from her new book ‘Women and Leadership Around the World’, published in 2015. As a supplement, Prof. Madsen will hold many round tables with discussions where participants will be provided with new sources of inspiration by sharing personal stories of influential women from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Turkey,
Greece, Sweden, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia. The conference is sponsored by Nova KBM.
