The President of the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts, Dragutin Ranogajec, opened the first entrepreneurial nest in primary schools in Croatia on Wednesday at Stjepan Radić Primary School in Brestovac Orehovički.
The entrepreneurial nest is a project that initiates learning about entrepreneurship in teaching, school, and extracurricular activities with students.
The Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts notes that entrepreneurship in schools is a practice that schools in certain European countries have, and that the application of entrepreneurship as an interdisciplinary area in formal education, starting from primary school, leads to a developed knowledge society, where young people learn how to develop a product from an idea, create new value, and take responsibility for their lives.
“The Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts has been advocating for the strengthening of vocational education for the needs of crafts and the economy as a whole for many years, and we emphasize the need for students to acquire entrepreneurial skills from a young age. Therefore, we gladly responded to the invitation to open the Entrepreneurial Nest and contributed with a donation to equip it with the necessary tools for practical work and learning,” emphasized Ranogajec.
