Marina in the Heart of Zagreb: Over 100 Vessels Exhibited at Velesajam

The 25th anniversary Nautical Fair and the 8th International Fair of Hotel and Catering Equipment, Food and Beverage, and Gastronomic Innovations Hotel&Gastroteh were opened on Wednesday at the Zagreb Fair (ZV) and will last until Sunday, February 21.

ZV Director Dina Tomšić stated at the opening that this year’s fair season begins with two successes. The Nautical Fair was referred to as a marina in the heart of Zagreb, where over 100 vessels, mostly from Croatian manufacturers, can be viewed in five pavilions. Alongside them, several renowned foreign shipbuilders such as Bennetau, Jenneau, Sea Ray, Bayliner, Glastron, and Four Wins are exhibiting, and almost all renowned manufacturers of inboard and outboard motors are also represented.

The Nautical Fair features 370 exhibitors from 25 countries across five pavilions. This year, numerous prize games have been prepared for visitors. The main prize is an inflatable boat and a Yamaha outboard motor, while the second prize is a cruise for six people. Visitors will also have the opportunity to try diving in a large pool, along with a range of other activities.

The Hotel&Gastroteh Fair has gathered exhibitors from eight countries. It is accompanied by numerous side events, the most notable being the presentation of the Croatian Culinary Association through the traditional state competition of the ten best Croatian chefs, Cro Top 10.

Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić stated at the opening that Zagreb made a significant contribution to last year’s tourism revenue.

– Thanks to Advent, Zagreb became the most visited city in Croatia in December, said Bandić.

He expects numerous visitors who should help revitalize ZV, while in statements after the opening he admitted that he had not been on vacation for 16 years and had not stepped onto a single boat during that time.

– There is no better place to visit ZV in these five days, from February 17 to 21, with popular ticket prices and free parking. We expect a record attendance and improved weather, said Bandić.
