The leadership of the Croatian Chamber of Economy met with the Minister of Tourism Anton Kliman. They discussed the economic situation in Croatia, opportunities for even better cooperation between the Chamber and the Ministry, joint projects, and partnerships through the creation of a stimulating environment for further investments in tourism, cooperation in promoting Croatian tourism, as well as the economy as a whole, and the activities of numerous associations and communities through the Chamber’s platform.
Alongside the president of the Chamber Luka Burilović, the meeting was attended by the vice president for tourism, trade, and financial institutions of the Chamber Josip Zaher, the vice president for international affairs and EU funds Želimir Kramarić, and the director of the Tourism Sector of the Chamber Leila Krešić-Jurić.
– The Croatian Chamber of Economy offers partnership to the Ministry of Tourism in creating the best possible business conditions for members from the tourism sector. Specifically, working on resolving the tax treatment of all entities in tourism, as well as on laws regarding maritime property and tourist land, and other procedural obstacles to investments and business operations in the country, said the president of the Chamber Luka Burilović.
Minister Kliman emphasized the importance of investment in tourism as a driver of investment cycles in other sectors, reflecting on Croatia’s excessive dependence on tourism.
– Our goal is for tourism to account for a relative 10 percent of GDP structure, but with a contribution of 10 billion euros, as this would mean that other economic branches are far more competitive“, the minister emphasized.
