Prime Minister Orešković Made a Very Good Impression on Members of the Exporters Club

An increase in exports by 30 percent over the next four years is one of the five most important economic goals that Tihomir Orešković outlined in his presentation last Friday in the Parliament. He also emphasized that such an increase in exports is a key factor for GDP growth and competitiveness. Thus, he became the first Croatian prime minister to demonstrate at the beginning of his term that he understands the role and importance of exports as a driver of overall economic growth, which we at Lider, especially within the Exporters Club, have been warning about for years, demanding more favorable business conditions for exporters.

Perhaps the new prime minister was somewhat modest, as a 30 percent increase in exports over the next four years would ‘de facto’ mean a slowdown in his annual growth rate compared to last year and the year before when exports were growing at double-digit rates. However, from his entire presentation, it is evident that Tihomir Orešković did not throw around unattainable figures, which clearly left a very good impression on the members of the Lider Exporters Club who commented on his presentation.
