President of the Republic Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović has dismissed Vladimir Šeks from his position as her special advisor for constitutional and legal issues.
She did this based on the provision of Article 106 of the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia and Article 6 of the Decision on the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia, states the Office’s announcement.
Media speculate that the dismissal is related to the pardon of Vanja Goldberger, who was Šeks’s advisor during his time as President of the Croatian Parliament, and who was convicted for drug abuse and illegal possession of weapons. They also state that Šeks was dismissed at his personal request because he feels moral responsibility regarding this case.
Otherwise, HDZ parliamentary representative Milijan Brkić has frozen his mandate and is leaving the Croatian Parliament, while HSS has received a second representative, thus being one step away from forming a parliamentary club, it was decided today at the meeting of the Mandate and Immunity Commission of the Croatian Parliament.
