Croatian exporters receive better logistical and other support in the German market

The Croatian Economic Association from Frankfurt (HGS) and the association Croatian Exporters (HIZ) signed a cooperation agreement on Tuesday that enables exporters to receive logistical and other support in the German market.

Croatian exporters are trying to connect not only within Croatia but also globally, with institutions, associations, organizations, and even banks that can have positive effects on the Croatian economy and exports, said HIZ President Darinko Bago at the signing.

“With this agreement, HIZ and HGS members can find touchpoints and intensify activities in both directions. We have sought, and will continue to seek, potential partners abroad,” emphasized Bago, adding that he is extremely pleased that HGS members are mostly from the group of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Croatian companies, also mostly small and medium-sized, will now be able to use the infrastructure of German partners for a symbolic fee, along with the joint organization of seminars, lectures, and other events.

HGS President Mario Šušak reported that the association has 350 members and that it will now actively present the opportunities of the Croatian economy to Germans. “We plan a series of events where we will try to bring Germans closer to the way of doing business in Croatia, but also to Croatian companies the way of functioning in Germany, where there is still a strong need for new entrepreneurs and new companies. Interest in cooperation with Croatia remains high in Germany, and this also applies to investments in Croatia,” said Šušak.

He believes that a stronger entrepreneurial network should be created in Croatia, noting that the strength of the German economy is based on quality networking. “Much more can be done in the Croatian economy to strengthen production, create new jobs, and successful business stories,” said Šušak, who will bring German tax advisors to Croatia this summer to familiarize them with the Croatian tax system and its benefits.

The Secretary of Croatian Exporters, Ljiljana Habunek, who signed the agreement with Šušak, stated that it establishes cooperation in areas of mutual interest, through joint initiatives and mutual informing about activities that contribute to improving the business environment.
