At the shipyard Uljanik in Pula, a contract has been signed with the Australian company Scenic, which has agreed to build a luxury passenger ship intended for cruises around the world, particularly in polar and tropical regions.
The value of the project is a business secret, and at Uljanik, led by CEO Gianni Rossanda, they emphasize that this is one of the most expensive ships ever built in domestic shipyards and the first of its kind contracted in Croatia.
The ship will be able to accommodate up to 240 passengers and 172 crew members. It will resemble a large yacht measuring 165.70 meters in length and 21.50 meters in width. Additionally, the ship will feature various amenities such as a helipad, a submarine for seven people, a theater with 240 seats, heated pools, gyms, a wellness center, jacuzzis, six restaurants, bars, a Pilates studio, and around a hundred apartments.
According to the value of contracted work from Croatian shipyards, Uljanik Group’s order book is the ‘heaviest’ with 25 constructions worth over one billion euros.
– We are active in some completely new niches in the market, and in accordance with the Group’s strategy, Uljanik Shipyard continues to build ships of medium and high complexity. Speaking of production capacities, they are filled for 2016 and 2017, and part of the capacity has been filled in 2018 – they say at Uljanik.
