PwC Strengthens Its Business Consulting Team with the Acquisition of Boutique Firm Fern Partners

– PwC has enhanced its business consulting team across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) by acquiring Fern Partners, a group of experts specializing in pricing and revenue management.

Fern Partners is a group of experts with years of international experience in pricing and revenue management, helping clients increase revenues through effective pricing solutions and services. The solutions that create results are based on the analysis of numerical data, psychological research, and consumer behavior knowledge. The results of the work are visible immediately upon implementation in the form of increased profitability for businesses. Experiences from Western markets indicate that companies with a good approach to pricing strategy fare better during periods of rapid growth as well as during periods of market instability.

“PwC recently announced its intention to acquire Outbox Group, which offers cloud customer services, and today we proudly announce that we have acquired Fern Partners, which is part of our plan to offer our clients across the Central and Eastern Europe region a wide range of services to meet their business needs, from strategy to implementation.” PwC, Outbox Group, Fern Partners, and our internal big data and data analytics team are jointly turning that plan into reality,” said Olga Grygier-Siddons, CEO of PwC for Central and Eastern Europe.

Fern Partners is one of the few companies in the Polish market that specializes in developing and implementing pricing strategies. The company is a key partner for businesses in the consumer goods, retail, healthcare, energy, transportation and logistics, and financial services sectors.

“The acquisition of Fern Partners is another step in strengthening our business consulting department. I am confident that together we can quickly establish ourselves as a leader among preferred providers of pricing strategy development and implementation solutions in Poland and the region,” said Krzysztof Badowski, partner at PwC and leader of the consumer goods and retail services team in Central and Eastern Europe.

Faced with very strong competition and a price war, pricing is one of the fastest-growing areas. However, local companies are generally more conservative in their approach to price management than Western companies. Meanwhile, new technologies, such as data analytics, combined with traditional econometrics and statistics, enable companies to simultaneously build a competitive advantage and increase revenues.

“Pricing strategy is becoming one of the most important challenges for many companies, especially in such sensitive markets as ours. Practice confirms that the right approach to price management allows for effective and sustainable profit growth of 1-3 percentage points. By joining PwC’s team, we gain broader access to international markets. Additionally, our clients can benefit from the expertise of the business consulting team,” stated Maciej Kroenke, founder of Fern Partners.

“Price management has the greatest impact on profit realization. There is no faster or more effective way to increase profitability and gain a competitive advantage than optimizing the pricing strategy. Our years of experience have shown that price optimization is an area where companies can achieve additional profits, regardless of their activity or sector in which they operate,” concluded Maciej Kraus, founder of Fern Partners.

PwC recently announced plans to acquire another company, Outbox Group, a leading company in the European market for cloud customer IT technologies. The acquisition still requires approval from the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection, and other conditions specified in the purchase agreement must also be met.
