INA Oil Industry d.d. Wins the Green Frog Award 2015

INA Oil Industry d.d. won the Green Frog Award 2015, triumphing in Deloitte’s competition for the best sustainability report in Croatia. The award ceremony was organized by Deloitte at the Double Tree by Hilton hotel. The award was accepted on behalf of INA by Tvrtko Perković, Executive Director, PF Corporate Center. After the award presentation, Deloitte experts presented an analysis of the sustainability report, showcased examples of best practices, and introduced the legal framework for non-financial reporting.

The best report among the submissions was selected by an independent jury consisting of dipl. ing. Mirna Maravić, univ. spec. oec., Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Economy, mr.sc. Nenad Nikolić, dipl. ing. physics, Croatian Institute for Standards, dr. sc. Branka Pivčević Novak, Head of the Sustainable Development Department at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Nature, assoc. prof. dr.sc. Mislav Ante Omazić, Faculty of Economics at the University of Zagreb, and dipl. political scientist Dragan Zelić from GONG. In selecting the best report, the jury considered four guidelines, which pertain to reporting on key indicators based on which the submitting company measures sustainability, materiality, the content of the report, and the structure of the report and the method of communicating information.

„Non-financial reporting can greatly benefit companies.“, stated Ivana Turjak Čebohin, Senior Manager in Deloitte’s audit department, and continued „Starting from strengthening investor trust, better understanding of business models, strategies, and risks to uncovering new business opportunities. In this sense, with the Green Frog Award, we want to acknowledge companies that have already begun reporting on sustainability and encourage others to join this trend. It should also be emphasized that in accordance with European Union directives, from 2017, large companies that are public interest entities and have over 500 employees will be required to publish non-financial reports as part of their management reports. Participation in Deloitte’s competition is an excellent opportunity for companies to start preparing for new legal provisions in a timely manner.“, concludes Turjak Čebohin.

„The Green Frog Award for companies represents an extraordinary opportunity to showcase your sustainable practices and ways of conscious and active management of economic, social, and environmental impact. Ensuring sustainable growth has long been an integral part of the business of numerous companies in Central Europe. If closely linked to strategy, it leads to long-term business success and improvement of the company’s financial position.“, stated Dražen Rajaković, Senior Manager in Deloitte’s consulting department.
