The Association of Craftsmen Rijeka has launched a Joint Procurement Project aimed at facilitating business operations and the procurement of fuel, raw materials, equipment, supplies, and services for its members. One of the results is a 25.6 percent lower electricity price for 2,700 Rijeka craftsmen, confirmed on Monday by the association’s president, Darko Sertić.
Sertić stated that the goal of such procurement is to prevent the closure of crafts and that the savings achieved exceed the annual amount of the chamber contribution, which craftsmen are legally obliged to pay. The association emphasizes arguments such as the number of members and procurement quantities in negotiations with suppliers, he added.
In addition to the lower electricity price, other discounts for craftsmen have been negotiated in the joint procurement project, for example, with telecommunications operators, banks, insurers, and various other suppliers, with a total of more than 40 companies involved.
The Association of Craftsmen Rijeka gathers craftsmen from Rijeka as well as from Bakra, Kraljevica, Čavli, and Kostrena.
