Operating at a positive zero, which was announced to be achievable by the end of 2016, was accomplished ahead of schedule – already by the end of last year, it was announced today at a press conference at the Clinical Hospital Center Zagreb.

Revenue reached 1.77 billion kuna, što je 36,46% više nego lani. All positive natural and financial indicators are the result of increased productivity across all segments of the institution’s activities due to better work organization, additional activities through the Program Plus, and slightly higher service prices reimbursed by the Croatian Health Insurance Fund (HZZO). Waiting lists have been significantly reduced.

In 2015, the Clinical Hospital Center Zagreb provided health services in 1,361,327 cases, što predstavlja povećanje od 13,7% u odnosu na 2014. The largest growth was achieved in the segment of day hospitals and outpatient surgery, where better work organization resulted in a growth of 24.9% – in 2015, 74,967 individuals were treated compared to 51,957 in 2014.

Compared to 2014, the number of treated individuals in the polyclinic segment increased by as much as 12.97% – from 1,073,423 (2014) to 1,212,667 (2015). This represents a total of 139,244 more treated patients. The number of surgeries in the inpatient and day hospital increased by 25.89% – from 28,734 to 36,174 operated patients. These are just some of the indicators of increased efficiency of the entire system, which can boast that it treated a total of 163,896 more patients than the previous year, equivalent to the size of a large Croatian city.

All of the above resulted in total operating revenues of 1.770 billion kuna. Total operating expenses amount to 1.706 billion kuna, resulting in a positive operating result of 64 million kuna in 2015. On a budgetary basis, the difference between revenues and expenses amounts to – 149.5 million kuna, što u odnosu na 2014. godinu predstavlja smanjenje gubitka u iznosu od 211,4 milijuna kuna.

Waiting lists have been shortened by a total of 222 days što čini smanjenje od nešto više od 30 posto. This was achieved through improved work organization and the Program Plus, in which 13,538 patients were treated. The rapid initiation of treatment for patients diagnosed with malignant diseases was realized by launching the 72-Hour Program through 12 interdisciplinary oncology teams, which included 278 specialist doctors from KBC Zagreb. In this form of rapid patient management since July 20, 2015, 1,773 patients were diagnostically processed, and for those who needed it – a total of 488 (28%) began treatment within 72 hours.
