In the first eleven months of 2015, the revenues of the state budget reached 98.5 billion kuna, while expenditures amounted to 104.2 billion kuna, resulting in a deficit of 5.7 billion kuna, according to the latest provisional data from the Ministry of Finance.
Only in November, the budget recorded a surplus of about half a billion kuna, as revenues increased by 17 percent year-on-year to 10.2 billion kuna, while expenditures decreased by 2.4 percent to 9.7 billion kuna. In November, VAT revenues, the most significant tax revenue, reached 3.87 billion kuna, which is about 800 million more than in the same month two years ago.
In the first eleven months of last year, total VAT revenues reached 40.215 billion kuna, which is 2.7 billion or 7.2 percent more than in the same period of 2014. Thanks to this, among other factors, the budget deficit for the first eleven months of last year was 34.8 percent lower than in the same period of 2014. However, the data on the total deficit are not methodologically comparable, given the exclusion of the HZZO as an off-budget user since the beginning of 2015.
