The company Belje, part of the Agrokor group, concluded this year with a production of 35 million liters of milk, which is five million liters more than last year, the company reported on Tuesday.
The increase in production, they state, is primarily the result of significant investments in capacity expansion and new technologies.
After the opening of the Topolik farm, which became the largest robotic dairy farm in the region in 2008 with a total capacity of 500 head, Belje also opened a second, even larger farm at the Mitrovac location this year. With a capacity of 2000 dairy cows, Mitrovac is the largest farm in Croatia, achieving a total production of over 15 million liters of milk. When combined with the milk production from the Topolik farm and four other dairy farms in Belje, it is no surprise that this year’s production plans have not only been met but exceeded, according to Belje.
“Investments in development and new technology in our production capacities are already yielding excellent results, and we believe this is just the beginning of a new significant momentum,” emphasized Belje CEO Davor Bošnjaković.
