– Now it is up to the President to show whether she is a stateswoman, I hope she is, or will she allow I don’t know what methods to prevail. HDZ is now conducting its intelligence police operation. We are ready for new elections, but that is up to the President.
Zoran Milanović said this today at a press conference in the SDP, reacting to the statement of the leader of Most, Božo Petrov, who earlier said that they are breaking off negotiations with the coalition Croatia is Growing due to the recruitment of representatives.
– We agreed to everything. The question arises, who would we call? That story that we called someone makes no sense at all. Petrov didn’t even call me, but sent a message that we are recruiting his people. Today during consultations, everyone said they support Petrov. The motives are obviously some other – said Milanović.
He stated that the demands of Most came one after another, and that we responded positively to all of them. He asserted that the coalition Croatia is Growing agreed to almost all of Most’s demands during negotiations, that they, in addition to the position of Prime Minister, handed over the ministries of internal affairs, justice, administration, agriculture, environmental protection, economy, and transport and infrastructure, as well as the Croatian National Bank, Apis, and DUUDI, which indicates that the claims of recruitment are illogical.
– We also agreed on the composition of the narrower cabinet. Colleagues from Most explicitly said they are looking for a package. We offered signatures, but it was persistently claimed that it still needs a week for harmonization. We offered not only our signatures but also those of those who supported us. This was rejected with the explanation that they need more time – said Milanović.
