Cedevita d.o.o., an operational company within Atlantic Grupa, has signed a sales agreement for its tea business with Spider Group – a long-standing contractual partner in the production of teas known under the brands Cedevita and Naturavita.
The transaction involves the consolidation of the assortment under the unified brand Naturavita, which will be owned by Spider Group from January 1, 2016, while the strategic cooperation between the two companies continues through a distribution partnership. Atlantic Grupa, through its distribution network, will continue to distribute the entire range of teas in all markets where it has been present to date, in retail and HoReCa channels.
Atlantic Grupa has made the decision to divest and sell its entire tea business in order to fully focus Cedevita d.o.o.’s business on its core operations – vitamin instant beverages. Teas under the brands Cedevita and Naturavita hold a 15.5 percent market share and are the second player in the Croatian market. Within Spider Group, the new owner with extensive experience and expertise in tea production, the assortment will receive additional focus.
Spider Group is a leading regional producer and processor of medicinal and aromatic herbs, as well as herbal-based products, headquartered in Pitomača. Spider Group brings together companies Jan-spider d.o.o. (processing of medicinal and aromatic herbs), Herbarium d.o.o. (packaging of finished products), Biofarma d.o.o. (cultivation of medicinal herbs), and Đolta d.o.o. (cultivation of medicinal herbs in cooperation and procurement) into a unique concept “from field to table.” The company cultivates medicinal herbs on its own fields for the production of teas and herbal-based products, and the entire process is closed within its own capacities. Medicinal and aromatic herbs are grown in a controlled and safe manner, guaranteed by implemented quality systems ISO 22000:2005, HACCP, GMP, and GLOBAL G.A.P.
