Matija Krznar, director of Urban Mobility, and Vedran Prasnikar, director of Porsche Inter Auto, signed a contract in Zagreb for the delivery of 30 Volkswagen up! vehicles that will be used in the Spin City car sharing project. The vehicles will be delivered by spring next year when the car sharing project will also commence.
In Zagreb, the Spin City car sharing project will start in spring, which is a service for shared use of cars for driving around the city and its surroundings, where 30 Volkswagen up! vehicles will be distributed on city streets – 10 electric and 20 conventional. This solution, along with the application of modern technology, integrates the sharing economy with the modern green economy. Through this defined system, Spin City users will rent a vehicle just as much as they need, without the costs of ownership and maintenance.
– In shaping the Spin City car sharing service, we focused on practical and reliable city vehicles, which we recognized in the offer of Porsche Inter Auto. It was extremely important for us that the fleet contains as high a proportion of electric vehicles as possible, given the available charging infrastructure. With the implementation of even one-third of the fleet on electric drive, Spin City brings Zagreb among the leading European cities with low carbon dioxide emissions per car sharing vehicle and provides significant benefits for the environment. We are pleased that Porsche Inter Auto was among the first to recognize our idea, and we believe that the agreed cooperation will enable the realization of common interests with all the accompanying values that this project brings,” emphasized Matija Krznar, director of Urban Mobility, which is launching the Spin City service.
