By the regulation through which the Croatian government in a technical mandate postponed the application of the unified framework chart of accounts, it may have opened the way for future discussions to even abandon its application.
The most active in postponing the application of the chart of accounts were in HUP. In their response, there is one interesting thing, which is that in the upcoming discussions with the Ministry of Finance regarding the chart of accounts, there may indeed be news because, as they say, ‘other possibilities will be explored as an alternative to the introduction of the chart of accounts’.
For now, there is no such announcement from the Ministry of Finance, but unofficially we have been told that ‘time will show what should be done’. That the Ministry is also ready for such discussions may be confirmed by the fact that, in addition to representatives of HUP, entrepreneurs will also be invited to the working group, which means that HUP would be strengthened, and this ultimately suggests that the story regarding the chart of accounts may not be over yet.
