The main mission of the new head of the Zagreb Fair branch, Dina Tomšić, will be, as she says, to reposition Velesajam into a business success, and one of her first moves will be the operational restructuring of the company considering the losses that have accumulated in recent years.
– The focus of short-term goals will be on shaping a microzone for congress and fair activities, while the long-term strategy will be based on a strategic alliance with international partners as well as on the already initiated spatial redesign and strengthening of human resources – emphasized Tomšić for Lider.
Fairs and events have a driving impact on sectors of the economy, and this potential, she says, has not been activated in recent years, just as the international status of the Zagreb Fair has been neglected.
– The development vision has been designed with the Management of Zagreb Holding and the City of Zagreb and will be presented to the public in the near future – stated Tomšić.
The new head of the Zagreb Fair was born in 1970 in Zagreb, graduated from the Faculty of Economics where she also obtained her doctorate this year. She began her business career precisely at the Fair as an intern and was also the director of key international fair projects such as the Zagreb Auto Show. Since 2009, she has been the assistant to a member of the Management Board at Zagreb Holding.
