Franck takes over the distribution of Intersnack products

Adria Snack Company d.o.o. will manage a joint marketing and sales presence for the brands of both partners with the aim of strengthening their positioning in the markets of the Adriatic region. Plans include enriching the snack program and investing in the modernization and expansion of production capacities in Croatia.

As of January 1, 2016, Franck will take over the distribution of Intersnack products for the Croatian market, thereby assuming responsibility for the distribution of the entire range of Adria Snack Company d.o.o.  This distribution represents one detail of the cooperation between the two partners within the newly formed company Adria Snack Company d.o.o., which began operations on October 1, 2015. Adria Snack Company d.o.o. is a joint venture partnership between Franck, the leader in the Croatian snack market, and Intersnack, a leading manufacturer of snack assortments in Europe, aimed at stronger positioning in the markets of the Adriatic region. The partnership involves a joint marketing and sales approach, enriching the snack program, and investing in the modernization and expansion of production capacities in Croatia.

By separating the snack business into a special company, Franck’s goal is to strengthen the management team that will be exclusively responsible for managing the snack business. With this organizational change, Franck continues to develop its coffee, tea, and coffee-related business within the “House of Hot Beverages” platform, while focusing on the salty snack business with Adria Snack Company d.o.o., which requires a different sales and marketing approach compared to hot beverages. This has strengthened the foundations of a long-term strategy that includes the consolidation of the snack business, further business development, and stronger expansion in the markets of the Adriatic region.

– In the snack business, we have long outgrown the local market and need to expand into new markets to ensure further growth. Cooperation with Intersnack creates the conditions for the realization of a faster and more significant investment cycle, modernization and improvement of production in Croatia, innovations in packaging, and particularly important research and development of new products, as well as a quicker application of global trends in the snack category. Alongside all of this, our choice of Intersnack as a partner in realizing these ambitious plans is also based on mutual trust built through years of cooperation and exchange of experiences in production. The fact that we have both recognized a clear economic logic for joint investment and that the market demands an enriched offer keeps us confident that we have initiated a successful partnership project, emphasized Ivan Artuković, a member of the Management Board of Franck.

Adria Snack Company d.o.o. will manage a portfolio that includes Franck’s snack assortment as well as Intersnack’s assortment, which the company will import for the markets of the region. In Croatia, Adria Snack Company d.o.o. holds 23% of the total snack market in terms of volume and value, and nearly 45% of the chips market, and if private label production is taken into account, it represents more than 60% of the chips market. In the context of an enriched offer, alongside Intersnack brands such as Chia and Kelly’s, an even greater contribution from Franck’s successful brands such as Čipi Čips, My Chips, Kroki Kroket, and Tip Top is expected in the overall results of Adria Snack Company d.o.o.
