Ikea Group achieved a net profit growth of 5.5 percent in the past fiscal year, reaching 3.5 billion euros, while total revenues reached 32.7 billion euros, which is 11.5 percent higher than in the previous fiscal year, reported the Swedish furniture manufacturer on Thursday.
“In the fiscal year behind us, we achieved excellent results, investing significantly in sustainability, better offerings, and the availability of our products”, emphasized Peter Agnefjäll, CEO of Ikea Group, on the occasion of the financial results announcement for the fiscal year ending in September.
According to the Group’s statement, the growth in sales was primarily driven by existing stores of the retailer, and the good results were significantly influenced by newly opened markets and online expansion. It is highlighted that record results were achieved in Germany and that a positive shift is also felt in the markets of Southern Europe and North America.
Ikea Group will share its good financial results with employees again this year, rewarding them with a total of 105 million euros through the "Tack!" program. Since the introduction of this program two years ago, a total of 305 million euros has been awarded to employees.
